Forge

Local-first cinematic workspace

Desktop Product

Forge is a local desktop workspace.

Forge runs on your machine, works directly with local project folders, and talks to your local OpenClaw setup without forcing the workflow through a hosted backend.

Apple Silicon preview build. If macOS warns that the app is unsigned, open it from Finder with right-click → Open, or allow it once in Privacy & Security.

Local project workspace

Open a project folder on your machine, keep scripts and media local, and work in one editor-first window.

OpenClaw copilot

Talk to your local OpenClaw setup from inside Forge with a project-scoped session key, using the local CLI by default or an optional custom hook route.

Media-first references

Characters, locations, props, keyframes, and audio stay attached to the project as local files, not cloud placeholders.

Workflow

One local workspace, one source of truth

01Download Forge for macOS.
02Install the app and open or create a local project folder.
03Upload image and audio references directly from disk.
04Open Copilot Settings, keep the session key, and optionally add a custom hook URL and token.
Install
  1. 1. Download the macOS build.
  2. 2. Open the DMG and drag Forge into Applications.
  3. 3. Launch Forge and create or open a local project folder.
  4. 4. Open Copilot Settings and keep the session key. Add a hook URL only if you run a custom /hooks/shotforge route.
OpenClaw

Forge stores the OpenClaw session key in project settings and keeps any optional hook token outside the project file. If no hook URL is set, Forge uses the local openclaw agent CLI. The bottom AI composer sends the current selection as project-scoped context, and AI suggestions remain manual-apply only.
